No More Innocence

Deceiver with a Phase 3 transformation · NMI

No More Innocence (NMI) turns the whole map grey and plays two completely different killers in one round. In Phases 1 and 2 he travels through the TVs placed around the map, sees every survivor and uses clones and hallucinations to get close. When Phase 3 starts, the TVs disappear and he turns into a hedgehog form with a direct kit: a dash-grab, fake springs and a mark-and-teleport.

Verdict (S tier, release week v1.1): The best information killer in the game, with a Phase 3 form that finishes rounds. One of the two strongest picks at launch. See the tier list →

Abilities

Phases 1–2

  • Screen Transportation: Enter a TV on the map, hop between TVs and see every survivor. Crawling out plays an animation, then gives a short speed boost.
  • Deceit: Spawns a clone of a random survivor near the target. If it gets close to someone it marks them, and NMI can swap places with it.
  • Hallucination: Darkens nearby survivors' screens and sends running shadow copies of NMI at them.

Phase 3 (hedgehog form, TVs removed)

  • Tormenting Dash: Dash-grab that slams the survivor for 30 damage.
  • Spring Trickery: Places a fake spring at the cursor that slows whoever runs over it.
  • Yokai Sight: Ground slam that marks nearby survivors. Click a marked survivor to teleport to them.

Since the v1.24 update (October 18) every killer's basic attack (M1) does 35 damage, up from 20 at launch, and all abilities and M1s cost stamina. See the update log. Phase timing and the escape timer are covered in the escape timer guide.

How to survive No More Innocence

  • When the map turns grey, NMI is the killer. Watch nearby TV screens, since he has to crawl out of one before he can reach you.
  • Spread out. Deceit and Hallucination both work better when survivors are bunched together.
  • In Phase 3, don't run over springs you didn't see spawn naturally.

How to play No More Innocence

  • Treat the TVs as your map. Jump between them to find the group, and crawl out of one close to a target, because survivors can see the crawl-out animation.
  • Use the speed boost after crawling out to land the first hit before survivors react.
  • Use Deceit on a survivor near a group. If the clone marks someone, swap places with it to appear right next to them.
  • Use Hallucination to cover your approach. With shadow copies running at them, survivors struggle to tell which NMI is real.
  • In Phase 3, Tormenting Dash is your reliable 30 damage. Put Spring Trickery where survivors are about to run, and use Yokai Sight to mark and teleport onto stragglers.

Why S tier

NMI has the best information in the game while the TVs are up, and then switches to a direct kit with a dependable grab and a teleport. The tester who previewed the game called NMI their favorite, and a release-day reviewer who disliked most of the roster recommended NMI as the one killer worth buying.

FAQ

Why does the map turn grey?

That's NMI's passive. When he's the killer, the whole map is desaturated for everyone, so it's a tell for survivors.

Can NMI use TVs in Phase 3?

No. The TVs are removed from the map when he transforms, and he switches to Tormenting Dash, Spring Trickery and Yokai Sight.

Is NMI worth buying?

Yes. He's S tier on our list, and he's the one killer a critical release-day reviewer recommended buying.
